Enlightened beings are humans who have achieved spiritual realization. Along with their enlightenment, they can be recognized in the physical realm by the quality of their body, speech, and mind. In the Tibetan tradition many of these beings are recognized as tulkus, which are the reincarnation of former masters of the lineage.
